Members of Pakistan's coalition government are meeting in Islamabad
to finalise a list of charges that they plan to bring in
impeachment proceedings against President Pervez Musharraf.
Among
other things, they are expected accuse the former army chief of
misconduct and violating the constitution. They plan to begin the
formal process in a session of parliament on Monday. The ruling
coalition, made up of the party of slain former Prime Minister
Benazir Bhutto and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's party does
not have the two-thirds majority needed to pass an impeachment
motion. However some allies of the president are said to have
already pledged their support.
