The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe has failed
to reach an agreement on sending more military observers to
Georgia.
An OSCE representative told reporters following a meeting
in Vienna that discussions on the issue would continue. Russia is
reported to have blocked a deal due its objections to the proposed
immediate deployment of 100 monitors. The OSCE has 200 staff in the
Georgian capital, Tbilisi. This includes eight military observers.
