least 23 people and injuring 15 others.
The attack happened in the
country's restive North West Frontier Province, where security
forces have been fighting Islamic militants. Meanwhile, Pakistan's
army chief has made a surprise visit to Afghanistan. General Ashfaq
Kayani's trip comes a day after President Pervez Musharraf stepped
down. Ties between the two countries have soured over Afghan
accusations that Pakistan is failing to tackle Taliban militants on
their common border.
