medals table after winning three golds on Friday.

won the women's modern pentathlon, and Germany took two golds, a
silver and a bronze, in the kayaking competitions. Meanwhile, the
International Olympic Committee has asked the international
gymnastics federation to investigate allegations that Chinese
authorities falsified the age of a double gold medal gymnast who
was too young to compete.
