An investigation into the Madrid airplane crash this week
continues, with officials believing multiple causes may be behind
the disaster that killed 153 people.
Spain's aviation chief Manuel
Bautista said he believed a chain of failures, either technical,
human or both, likely caused the crash of the Spanair flight on
Wednesday. Spanish media said a video of the crash contradicted
witness statements that an engine was on fire before the failed
takeoff. Meanwhile, authorities said 50 bodies have been identified
so far, but DNA tests would be necessary to identify the remaining
badly burned corpses.
