In the United States, final preparations are underway for the
Democratic party's national convention, at which delegates are
expected to formally nominate Barack Obama as their candidate for
president. Obama's candidate for vice-president, senator Joe
Biden, campaigned in his home state of Delaware on Sunday.
Nearly
5,000 delegates are expected to attend the convention. As workers
were putting the finishing touches to the venue in Denver,
Colorado, outside on the streets of the city about a thousand
anti-war activists took part in a march to demand that the
Democrats keep their promise to end the war in Iraq.
