Rescuers in the French Alps have located the bodies of eight
climbers missing after an avalanche at the weekend.
Authorities
said however that it was too dangerous to attempt their recovery.
The mountaineers, including four Germans, three Swiss and one
Austrian, reportedly fell into a deep crevasse after being swept
away by a wall of ice on Mont Blanc on Sunday. A commander of
mountain rescue services said helicopters picked up homing devices
the climbers were wearing.
