North Korea has said it has suspended disablement of its nuclear
facilities in protest at the United States' failure to remove it
from a terrorism black list.
The official KCNA news agency also
quoted a foreign ministry official as saying that authorities were
considering restoring the Yongbyon nuclear reactor to its original
state. The United States has refused to remove North Korea from the
blacklist until it agrees on procedures to verify the declaration
it made in July on its nuclear programme. Disablement work at
Yongbyon has mostly been completed. It was aimed at making it
impossible for the North to resume operations there for at least a
year.
