A Sudanese passenger aircraft with an estimated 95 passengers on
board has been hijacked shortly after take-off from Nyala in Darfur
province.
News agencies report the Sunair Boeing 737 which was on
its way to Khartoum has landed in Kufra in southern Libya after
being refused landing permission in Cairo, Egypt. The broadcaster
al-Arabiya said the hijacker, believed to be a Sudanese national,
had initially ordered the pilot to fly to France. Three senior
