Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has said he will form a new
government, despite a deadlock in the country's power-sharing
negotiations with the opposition.
The government-owned Herald
newspaper quoted Mugabe saying that the opposition Movement for
Democratic Change apparently didn't want to join the coalition. The
MDC said it remained committed to power-sharing talks but the party
insisted on an inclusive government. Talks between Mugabe's ZANU-PF
and the MDC have stalled as Zimbabwe tries to resolve a political
crisis resulting from March general elections that the MDC won.
